Here I am continuing the series of posts on physicists and astronomers on US postage stamps, including the first, second, and third posts, plus one on chemists. (I have also covered mathematicians in this series.)
In the very first post I mentioned some aviation pioneers also depicted on US postage stamps; among them was Robert Goddard, who appears on an 8 cent airmail stamp issued in 1964. I just discovered that his Ph.D. was in physics, so he can officially be considered among the physicists so honored!
